    Yeah. You analyze the first an last letter. This then puts the identification of a particular word in a schema (ex. You see 4 letters with first letter b and last letter n, your brain knows it must be bean been etc) it's pretty awesome that you can differentiate between 30,000-50,000 words in a matter of milliseconds and as a continuous stream.

    Also, did you know that when you speak you don't have breaks in your sentence between words... but the brain is so good at analyzing language that it can "insert" the breaks in the sentence in real time so that you can understand it! Seriously, record this sentence and then look at the audio file. The only breaks are at commas and periods ;)
