Check your water parameters(ie. phosphate level). Is tank cycled through. Purchase some snails for example:Astrea, Turbo, Margarita, and or Cerith. Cut down on feeding! Change lighting duration.

Reduce phosphates - quickly with phosphate sponge (Algone, Phos-X, others), slowly through water changes, and reduce nitrates through less feeding. Shorten the hours you keep the tank lit (to about 9 if you have corals, less for FOWLR). A protein skimmer helps a lot with pollutants that feed algae. R/O water helps more. You can get a R/O unit or buy Reverse Osmosis (R/O) purified drinking water at the supermarket. Depending on your location tap water can be loaded with phosphates, so don't use it unless you test it and find none.

Raise alkalinity. Dose kalkwasser for top off water.
