    hi all!

    just a quick question! are pumps with a bronze head suitable for saltwater or will they degrade with continuous use?

    Not certain, but as bronze is an alloy of copper and tin, would this be a wise choice in a fish / reef environment? Bronze headed pumps are used for potable (drinking) in the plumbing industry for circulating domestic hot water to taps in large buildings, and it doesn't do us any harm. But whether the metals in the alloy are stable enough to not leech into the water, I'm not sure.
