    im by no means a chef. lol. but question is , does the broccoli for a purple tang need to be cooked a bit first? ive soaked in garlic but he haqsnt shown an interest yet. and i was told spinach needs to be steamed a bit first. it might not like the texture of it uncooked.

    My yellow tang rarely eats broccoli, but my fox face did and I just put it raw on the clip. Luna

    Just about everything under the sun. I feed mine the following;

    1. Seaweed stripes
    2. Bloodworms(dead or live)
    3. Squid
    4. Brine shrimp(dead or live)
    5. Mysis Shrimps
    6. Flake
    7. Mosquito larve(live)
    8. Silver sides(cut)

    I also hand feed him most of these things.

    Freezing will do the same as steaming. I like to freeze my greens first.

    Everyone eats the broccoli in mine. A power brown tang, 3 yellow tangs, Fire angel fish, the algae blenny, even my clowns get in on the actions from time to time. I put it in there raw, but fresh, now the pre-packaged frozen stuff.

    nori is just fine for your tang as that is his natural food. I don't feed my tank terestrial vegetables just for the simple fact that it's not something found in their natural habitat. Why, if you can buy seaweed, would you feed your fish anything other than that??
