    Hi Everyone,

So my nitrates finally have stabilized for awhile and I decided to add some chromis but I have recently starred noticing hitch-hikers.

Saw an unidentified snail I am trying to chase down BUT I also found a bristle worm creeping through the rocks.

My question is, IS my Chromis who sleeps in the rocks - in danger?

According to documentation it does not appear to be a problem! - I swore I read somewhere that bristle worms eat sleeping fish. Again - trapped by another rumour.

Bristle worms got a reputation because they've been found eating fish and snails. It turns out, they were doing their job and eating what was already dead or dying. Arguably the best part of a cuc, imo.

It seems to be eating algae (not in their diet) but works for me.

BW's eat pretty much anything...I've even seen them eating red cyano. I agree...no worries unless the critter in question is dead or dying.

What you've probably heard about are Eunicid worms (AKA Bobbit worms). They generally feed on detritus, altho they can become quite predatory...however, they look very different than BW's.

    You can compare them here:

So I can confirm - it is a Bristle worm, or "Brissels" as I now call him! Actually quite friendly - I let him crawl on my arm we eat dead debris together. Sold the Chromis - Worms are the real entertainers.

    I am kidding.

I appreciate everyone's help to be honest I have not seen the worm since.
