    Im going to get my tank today and just wondering what brand of salt do you guys perfer for a reef tank?
    Also I want to have to smaller heaters for my 60 gal what do you think about 2 150 watt ones, ps I live in San Diego so it doesn't get to cold. What do you think?

    IMO: All aquarium heaters should be connected through an external temperature controller. Aquarium heater's are notorious for getting stuck and cooking the tank.

    I know there is slight differences in the commercially available salts but I usually buy whichever one is on sale or cheaper. I also montior all parameters and adjust if needed.

    I started out with IO but constantly battled low calcium & mag. I have since swithed to Reef crystals for over a monthly and barely have to supplement calcium and mag. Good stuff.

    I also you IO reef crystals, never tried anything else. It is relatively inexpensive and readily available.

    Oceanic for me.....I like the blue bucket....no j/k it mixes very well and my levels are more consistent than IO
