blooms of deep purple algae and..........

    ok all over the bed of my tank are deep purple blooms is this the cyno algae everyone keeps talking about ? any info would be great . i thought i read on here (3reef) its from under feeding ???? and also i have dozens of hard tiny tiny disks on the back off my tank no idea what they are and i cant find my camera atm to post a shot . any idea what they are . they are all exactlly the same size .

    It sounds like it. A pic would definitely be great in determining for sure.

    without pics kinda hard to say. if the tiny dots on the back glass are hard and crusty and has color its more than likely coraline. if its slimy it could be cyno. I dont think under feeding could be the problem IMO

    well it sound like corraline to me but we do need pics to be 100% positive. good luck!

    sounds like cyano...coralline doesn't really "bloom" on the sand, at least I wouldn't call it a "bloom" overfeeding instead of udnerfeeding... but it is pretty common anyway
