Need to prune this thing...Don't quite know where to start..I have knocked a few limb" tips" off before and just glued to a frag and gave it away..Is there harm in doing multiples...and larger ones at that?..I'd like to take it down a bit...lol... its easily 8 inches across...and very thick..many branches attaching to others so I do have some concern....suggestions please.8)
    thanx..;D

It should not cause any problems trimming back.

Very nice colony LG! IME many birdsnest grow better after being fragged. Or faster atleast. They also seem to sprout more branches and grow in different directions. Frag it up if youd like! Sell off a couple frags or give them to friends. Either way it helps the hobby.

I'm in the same situation with my pink BN. I've been thinking about cutting off larger chunks, rather than trimming it like a bush.

    Hi LG

I have taken a reasonably sized chunk out of my birdsnest a couple of weeks or so ago, with no issues

I have no direct multiple large frag experience on this particular coral
although I do have several healthy Acro frags , that used to be just 1 coral
unil an accident meant it met the wooden floor in my home

all the resulting pieces where puttied to the rockwork
all of them survived the experience

Maybe LG should ship some to FatBastad in a few months when it's trim time again haha

I frag my 2 birds nest corals every 2 weeks or so, then it will slow down for a bit and I'll wait a couple of months. It seems they grow in spurts...
