I am setting up a Vertex Aquatic with bio-pellets to try and take my tank to the next level. My goal is better growth, PE, and color. Nuisance algae is not a problem. I have done the research and read thru Vinnie's thread here but still had some questions.

My questions I still have for those using the pellets are:

    1. Have you found an advantage to plumbing the reactor return directly to the skimmer chamber of the sump?

    2. Has the ULNS required you to add additional supplements stripped by the pellets? (I am only dosing Ca, Mg, and buffers at this time but adding either a calcium reactor or calk stirrer as soon as I decide.)

    3. Are you able to keep you refuge with macro algae sustained or did the low nutrients inhibit growth. (I am thinking of pulling out my mud and cheato if this is the case.)

TIA and happy new year to all.

I have my reactor output plumbed directly into my skimmer input (custom venturi type connection).

I dose a lot of Zeovit products...having tremendous results.

I had most of my macro algae die off after my pellets took off. I am using EcoBak pellets in a customized CAD Lights reactor.
