best way to use dosing pump

Hey all, would it be better to dose like this:
a few ml of Ca, 3 hours later a few ml of Alk, 3 hours later a few ml of Ca, 3 hours later a few ml of Alk, etc...

or like this:
few ml of Ca, two hours later a few ml of Ca, two hours later a few ml of Ca, then 12 hours later a few ml of Alk, followed by 2 more shots of Alk 2 hours apart?

IME both ways are overly complicated.

If you are manually dosing and doing it like 2-3x a week, what you say makes sense.

But using pumps on timers, your dosing daily. It's such a small amount I don't see any real benefit to not doing each element all at once (but each element at a different time).

I daily dose my Ca at lunch time (on a timer) and the Alk around 1am (again, on a timer). My numbers are solid.

EDIT: The pumps are dripping it after all and not just pouring it in...

What kind of dosing pump has those kind of intervals?

 

it is manufactured by Marine Magic. They are based overseas so you dont see them much in the US... Anyways, I can program each pump to come on and off up to 8 times throughout the day. or to only dose every other day, or every two days, etc. I can also control the speed that it pumps at from a very slow drip to almost flowing.

 

Either method is good. The alternating solutions would probably give the most stable parameters.

Yes, however I wouldnt want to because that would most likely cause a precipitate lol
but i could dose say Mag and Ca at the same time

Yes everything should be thoroughly mixed. 2 part solutions suggest putting in the full dosage at least 30 minutes apart. Since you will be dosing a smaller quantity and at a greater time differential you should have no issues.
