My Aqua C is great, but if I was going to buy a new one I would be looking at the SWC extreme series skimmers.

mikejrice just did a writeup on the diff between the cone and the standard skimmer. do a search on 3reef, it is a pretty good read.

    thanks, makes sense
http://www.3reef.com/forums/reef-aquarium-articles-how-tos/cone-skimmers-fad-function-84013.html for anyone that didnt read it

i know this is a very general question, but how much more maintenance does mesh wheel require then a pin wheel, and where does the SWC hybrid fall into place. i read on bulkreefsupply that they dont recommend the mesh wheel??

so think i have it narrowed down to the reef octopus, or the swc 160

anyone know the difference between the sicce 2500 pump on the octo and the atman 2500 on the swc???

I would think the maintenance would be about the same but I am by no means an expert on skimmers. maybe mike can chime in on this one.

I have a reef octopus on my 90 and love it. I have a very small bioload right now, but it seems like it will work very well.
