Best bang for buck... that can be misleading. Lately I've been moving more towards the buy it once mantra, not the buy as cheap as possible. I've been burned a couple times by trying to cut corners.

Best bang for buck, IMO, this guy.

ReefLEDLights ReefSpectrum P47 - Reef LED Lights

I've seen these in person and talked to the owner, amazing stuff. I was trying to buy lights from him to replace mine and he stopped me and talked me into working with what I have instead of just dropping more money into his lights.

Now, I saw your budget and I know I'm blowing that out the water. I have to just be the devil's advocate here and bring up an alternate option.

The chinese/ebay leds will grow your coral, I've seen some great tanks with them. Like I said, playing DA here.

Have you looked at a few threads on this subject?

I'm at work now and don't have my quick link to my answer to this question.

They're sold by EXPOWERTT on Amazon- 120W dimmable, full spectrum LEDs

I'm using them and have put them on a par meter on my DT.
Off the charts! Easily equaling or beating Radions, etc.

I have a similar light, with the same Leds and same pattern, but apparently different drivers- those weren't as high on the PAR meter though. I have it turned up a bit more to match the other two I have.

I love my reefbreeder value units. I have 2 over my 65g (36" with center brace). Here are the PAR values I got, I would think most 55 x 3w LED systems would be the same:

I'm kind of curious about those lights on ebay as well so I will be following to see if anyone has one of those.
