    Hello
My father used to breed and raise angelfish. He set up a room in our basement with all sorts of tanks. A few years ago he left the trade and I am now interested in caring for a new generation of angel fish. Right now a bunch of empty tanks are sitting in our basement with white gunk all over the glass. Does anybody know what this white stuff is or what I should do to get rid of it? Or is it good? Any help or suggestions would be great.

    Thanks,

    Marlin Poseidon

The white "gunk" could be hard water build ups. Not sure though. But in general a vinegar and water mix is what I use to clean up my tanks. Find a sponge that has NEVER had soap anywhere close to it and go to town. Rinse well with fresh water and let the tank sit until you can't smell the vinegar any longer.
Good luck with the angels! Before I got into saltwater I had thought about starting with angels in my freshwater tanks.
