What operating system are you running.

If it's XP try the resize tool here

Your 40 gallon looks good dirtyB!. Good luck with the resizing.

48x24x24 equates to 27,648 cubic inches which converts to 119.7 gallons.

The DAS tank has everything located in the back of the tank which takes up 1/4 of the tank volume right?
Matt I can resize the photos if you want but you will need to delete the file name so I can re-post them. Or you can do it as I know you have photoshop. :D

Have you tested your tap water . You have high nitrate levels . It could it be that your tap water has high levels of nitrate.

as far as your chromis hanging out in the corner, not eating or trying to eat and not getting much, maby bumping into things i found this is a common thing for some chromises. a lot of them will live a very long time but some seem to go through this and those most of the time dont make it. i lost one not to long ago and it had the same symptoms.

your fish tank guy sounds like hes after your money. i agree dont go with a ugf. did u ever lift one of them up? all that stuff lays under there and rots becomes a nitrate factory. also the cc isnt that great live sand is better. sand actually holds more good bacteria to help maintain a tank. where cc traps it and actually should be vaccumed often to keep it clean.
