Why is this very long stem shooting straight up from my banana plant?! Kinda weird. ;D
Anyone have an idea?
its trying to outwit the giant and rescue the little girl? now the questions is...are you the giant or the little girl? lol
Hmmm, tough question, not the giant but over 50 so not a little girl either. I'll have to think about this.
It's weird though, it's just straight up, almost out of the water. Any idea why it's doing this?
It's possible that it's going to bloom Lady J?
if it blooms please share a photo of it!
I have no idea! Do they bloom--I've never had one before so not sure. It's been sprouting leaves like crazy though. Maybe it's going to sprout some little Chiquitas.
I surely will. I love this little plant; it's pretty and interesting to look at.
I've made my decision: I'm the Chiquita banana lady. See above post. ;D
I just did a wee bit of reading and it sounds as if it's going to start growing something similar to lily pads on the surface. I don't think they flower but not sure about that. The article did say that a person might want to cut those stems and pads off because after a lot of top growth the leaves underneath will be too shadowed and will wither.
