how old is this method? I'm guessing its fairly new to the sates..? I've never even heard of it... but it does sound like a great method if you have a tank larger than 10 gallons

:D Nice. I would say it's probably his though because he was alive and practicing first :p I'm sure there were people before him, but I believe this is the way to go. I use this as a method for adding new stuff, but in the back of my mind, for whatever reason, water changes are still necessary

    balling method:
    1) remove the same amount of tank water that is added
    2) small weekly water changes

2-part dosing and this method are different

heres a dosing pump found in the u.s.a. since grotech is hard to find, if anybody finds others please post

froc gave an idea of gravity dosing instead of a pump, any thoughts?

heres the FM NaCl free salt, if anybody finds others please post

well i decided to give it a try, received the supplies from bulkreefsupply today. each category is mixed with 1 gallon of ro/di in 3 different containers. as expected the CaCl2 got hot, but the MgSO4/MgCl got cold.

    1) Ca: 2 cups
    2) dKH: 2 cups
    3) Mg: 3 cups MgSO4 and 5 cups MgCl

dosed 150cc each, raised the salinity in the tank from 1.026 to 1.028, so i took out 450 cc tank water and the salinity is back to 1.026

im going to go with the complete balling method instead of the balling light method. still waiting for the other stuff to come in.

Yeah, would like an update :) Do you have any problems with you additives settling? I had a small problem with that in the bags. I tested the stuff at the bottom compared to the top of the bags and the bottom actually contained higher concentrations so I had to continuously shake them to mix it up a bit.
