I just found a new baby clam in my refugium. It is about 1/4 in. I was wandering what to do with it. Leave it in refugium,or move it to display tank. The diplay tank has the lighting it should have, but will it become food. Also I suspect it came in with the kato about 6 months ago.

if you have a reef and every thing is reef safe i dont see why it would become food.. are you sure this is a clam that photosynthesis and not filter feeds?

if you do have a Tridacna clam that is that small you are going to have to target feed it for a while....when they are that small they will not be able to get enough food from the light. Will need phyto and other stuff.

Post a picture...I am betting that it is one of the filter feeder clams.

Could it be an oyster? I have an oyster that I found attached to one of my large clams....very cool looking. About the size of a dime. Must have been attached to the live rock or even the shell and I never noticed it
