I've been talking on my build thread about an auto water change system that I've been working on and feel that it's time to start a dedicated thread.

The system has a patent pending and I hope to offer it for sale after extensive testing.

Here is a pic of the alpha-test unit:

What I can say about the system right now is:

    - It works by changing a small amount of water on a periodic basis (ideally daily).

    - The amount removed is exactly the same as the amount replaced. It is handled by a small tank that ensures the same amount is swapped. The tank size should be 1-3% of tank volume, but can be more or less depending on user requirements. Users can use their own tank set up or order a tank with the unit.

    - It has extensive fail-safes to help ensure bad things don't happen.

    - It has numerous alarm conditions that can be sent through a controller for alerts via email/text.

More to come later. I just received the first prototype and have been testing it with lights instead of pumps. So far so good. I might set up a working scenario this weekend on my tank.

I will be looking for a small number of beta testers in the coming months.

I would love to beta test. I think this would help with one of the more timely things in the hobby.
