I recently installed a Hydor ATO system in my sump. The sensor is located in the return chamber. Every day and sometimes twice a day (like as I type this} the alarm goes off and the water level in the return chamber is too high. What is causing this? I syphon out some water from my tank to get the level down in the return chamber but it just will happen again like 3:00 in the morning or the next afternoon, its becoming very frustrating. Please help.

    Is the salinity changing?

Could the placement of the reservoir in relationship to the placement of the sensor be my problem?

Is your ATO over filling your tank?

No, its just adding too much water to my return portion of my sump.

Any chance my pump is too strong and it pumps in water faster than the ATO can shut if off? It was one of the 2 circulation pumps that come with a JBJ 29 gal nano cube.

Is it possible that it is creating a siphon? Is the reservoir below the sump?

No, it's next to it. Now i'm thinking either my pump is too strong and the ATO can't turn it off fast enough or maybe the water in my reservoir
is too high when the 5 gal bucket is full. Does either of those ideas make sense?

    No,
Can you put your resevoir slightly about the level of your sump?
Then you can return the product where you got it, and never have another problem,
using a system like mine, no pumps, no power, no sensors, does require gravity though.
