ATI Purple Plus with comparison pic

You read right, Purple Plus. ATI just released the new bulb in Germany on July 20 of this year. Don't know when we will see it here. It is their popular Blue Plus with red spectrum added. I would suspect that the par on this bulb will be close to the Blue Plus. Will update when I hear when it will be introduced in the states.

This is ATI's answer to the Fiji Purple.

Just emailed Reef Geek about the bulb and when they will be available.

Reef Geek emailed back that Monday 9-13 they will have some available. You most likely will need to call or email them to order the bulb.

I just tried Giesemann's new Aqua Pink bulb. To the naked eye it looks just like a Fiji Purple. I don't have any way to measure output though, so I can't say if the PAR is comparable or not.

 

I would think it would not be far off as most Geisemann bulbs have very good PAR.

Dang. I wish my local suppliers stocked ATI bulbs! Who are the good online suppliers? It seems like shipping these things, they get broken all the time... anyone have good experiences with that?

 

Reef Geek, when i placed my order earlier this year each bulb was shipped in its sleeve taped together with pallet edge cardboard. It was then placed in a shipping box with peanuts. This was then placed in another box with foam protection similar to what you find in electronics. Reef Geeks is also the only listed distributor in the US according to ATI's website.

 

Ordered from Reefgeek and MarineDepot.... both shipped extremely well packed.

 

I love ReefGeek, I'm very interested in the purple plus bulb. ATI bulbs dominate my fixture.
