Aquarium disease survival without host?

    Will diseases of the aquarium survive without hosts to infect?

    short answer is no, if you are referring to ich and marine velvet. However, the parasites will still continue to be active for weeks. It normally takes about a month for all of the parasites to die off, but sometimes longer

    Should I leave the tank dry or will this apply even if there is circulating water?

    Also...Marine ICK and SW ICK are different animals.
