Hi, i just joined this site. Anyway, I'm kind of a cheater. I really have a FOWLR. but, i have a 3" rectangular triggerfish and an emerald crab. The Humu i just got today, in the store the lighting wasn't very good so i didn't notice anything when i bought him. Upon acclimation, I noticed he had a few of what appears to be ich cysts on his body but not on fins. I have read about freshwater dips. Could i give him a dip to fight this ich? Because he has only been in my tank a few hours, i dont think there are any parasites in my tank other than attached to him so i think a dip should kill it all. What do you guys think?

Hey i read your signature and i'll say my new trigger isn't a quiet eater, i gave him a peice of shrimp and as he shredded it, he made clicking noises i could hear through the water, glass and everything.

well thats more of a equipment wise thing in my signature.

i used to have niger trigger.

pro-tip: don't let him get used to biting you on the hand when your doing work in the tank. ive done it with triggers and puffers. its playful (just a curious nip) at first but when they get big it hurts.

just be the food guy, triggers and puffers usually are pretty smart. they will recognise that you by the tank means food time. you can also hand feed when you get a couple more fish. when its fear vs hunger, hunger will usually win. all it will take is one fish eating from your hand then the other fish will start to do it eventually.
