I have 2 BTAs and they are not eating. The clownfish have been attempting to stay on them but I guess the anemone are not interested. They are not eating (it has been a week) all other fish and coral in tank are doing great.

I recently purchased a Flucal T5 HO 4 bulb lightening system. Params tested normal yesterday. salinity 1.024

Fish: 1 yellow tang, 1 blue hippo, 1 sailfish, 6 ocellaris, 1 cleaner shrimp, 1 chromis, 5 damsels.

First one looks pretty beat up, the second looks pretty bleached. I'd wait until they look 100% healthy before trying to feed them.

Are their tentacles sticky and catching food but not eating, or are the tentacles unable to catch anything?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Both are chronically starved BTA, how long have you had them?

The best you can do is provide good lighting and water quality and try to feed them when able.

What are you trying to feeding them?

I feed them silversides. I have this oyster feast. The stuff I feed my coral. Will that work?

What size tank do you have? Do you know your nutrient levels? I suspect you might have an excessive nutrient problem due to large amount of fish in a smaller tank.

The tentacles are no longer sticky.

A better food in my experience is small pieces of raw seafood such as scallops and raw fish.

How long have you had them? What light were they under previously?

I have a 75 gal. I've only being dealing with saltwater for a little over a year. What do you mean by nutrient problem? Can I test for something like that? How do you fix it?

Honestly I am not sure you can save them at this point. Excellent water conditions, adequate lighting and keep trying to feeding once or twice a week.

    Good luck.
