Feeding a lot will often cause BTAs to split. Feeding every other day is a more than a lot. Even once a week is a lot IMHO. I don't feed mine at all really. The get plenty of food from stuff floating into them.

And yes, it can take them a few days to recover.

Ok, good to know. I'll let them rest and I'll try to stop freaking out ;) and I won't feed as much.

What's weird is the mother moved down right next to her clone. I think she wants to murder it!

Sooo now they are both living on the underside of my rocks and I can't see them at all.

stressing that i don't know what i'm talking about here, i'd think splitting is fairly stressful. they probably want out of the 'sun' till they heal. they're just relaxing. I'd not try to coax them out - for now.

and that thought gives me the impression they are happy splitting and not last ditch effort splitting. seems to me, if it was last ditch, they wouldn't bother with the 'relaxing' aspect.

    again, i got no clue.

I was thinking along the same lines. I figure they need to rest and recover. I can imagine spitting must be quite taxing.

I'm leaving them be - just annoyed :p

I think it was a happy split too - the nem was super open, happy, etc. before the split....seems there would be signs it was unhappy if the split was a survival tactic.
