    hey guys,
last night i was informed that my anemone looked like it was spawnning with white clouds of something coming from its mouth.. this went on for well over an hour and i was just wanting to know if it is a common thing to happen within an aquarium.
i have some pics but they arent the best due to them being taken from the tv screen.
with regarts to what it looks like in the picture it has gone back to looking normal with having tight bubble tips and looking healthy

am interested to see responses on this. I thought anemones reproduced by splitting but if corals spawn, I don't see why anemones wouldn't as well....

Anemones reproduce sexually or asexually.I would keep a close eye on parameters and use fresh carbon after a spawning event.A WC would also be a good idea.;)

I'm guessing possible chemical warfare. Could be toxic or cause an ammonia spike.

It's organic matter suddenly introduced into the system which could cause a mini cycle to occur or worse. If you are using mechanical filtration you will want to clean it thoroughly after a spawning event.;)
