Any idea why my bubble tip anemone would be shrinking up like this? Did a quick search and couldn't find anything where they appeared to look like this. He's been doing it every 3rd day or so, and comes back fully "bubbled" after about an hour give or take. Based on my description, everyone I know says eating/pooping but it did not look as others do in the photos to me.

All parameters were in check as of 5 minutes before taking that photo.

    Thanks again!

Sounds like response to food or possibly trying to expel waste

Normal for a BTA, they just expell and refill with fluid routinely. Is this a green BTA? If you could post a picture of when it re-inflates that would help to see how it looks when totally inflated.

Yes it is a green BTA. I will happily post a photo when it re-inflates, although that will likely be tomorrow, as lights go out in 1 hour =p

I must say I love the rapid responses of this forum, and having such a mass of knowledge on all things marine. Thank you all again.

Looks like your cleaner shrimp is making him do it. My bta will do that also, how long have you had your bta?

Only about a month or so, got the cleaners the same day. They never leave it's side.

Same with my shrimp, before they wouldn't leave it alone but now it's fully open. Took a little over a month [IMG]

Shrimp do love to hang out with anemones. Here is my sexy shrimp and a RBTA. Skunk cleaner shrimp usually do not cause much trouble to anemones.

Yea that is a fantastic looking BTA. I considered buying one similar to that color, but couldn't stomach the cost, since it would have been my first anemone. Anyways, here is a photo of him about 45 minutes after the 1st picture was taken.

Let me know what you guys think, and if there is any cause for concern.

    Thanks!

Edit: Re-upped photo, since the last one did not work.
