    That looks like it will work. I think I've seen set ups like that somewhere around here.

    AFAIK there is no need for a bubble trap after the refugium. Since the fuge shouldn't be producing any micro bubbles.

    The bubble trap should be 3 baffles. The first baffle forces the bubble to the surface.

    I don't think the red baffle is necessary. As long as the level in the return section is kept lower than the fuge drain.

    Not really... bubble traps are for micro bubbles put out by skimmers. Invariably your skimmer will put some out at some point.

    For a fuge it depends on how much bubble come in from the drain. If you tee off correctly you can minimize this. So with few micro bubbles, long dwell time, and controlled flow, you should not have any bubble coming from the fuge. You might cause some bubbles in the return section if you let the water fall. If you just connect water levels over, then it would be fine.

    what about a berlin method? anyone have experience with this?? its it a fairly old method or is this just something not done anymore?
