Well I check again and my alk went down to 5 or 6.

Did a 20G WC today. Tested my change water- alk was at 15!
NOw my tank is at 8.

So If only my Alk is slowly dropping, livestock still doing great, do you think it is acceptable to add a small dose of baking soda to my topp offs?

As of now, I'm still manually adding about 2g a day as top off. Yes it's 0 TDS RO/DI. I figure my whole system is about 140g of water.

Seachem makes a product to buffer alk, always been a fan of their products.

I have the opposite problem, my pH likes to stay low and my kH high. Not sure what I can dose to raisethe pH without affecting the kH hoping time will stabalize it out since tank is only a month old

Someone said a Cacium reactro is basically crushed coral as the media. I don't know, don't own one.

But I do have crushed coral as my bottom substrate.
I started with a lot. NOw I"m down to about an inch and a half on average.

NO DSB in my sump either, not yet anyways.

After my 20g WC, and a wee bit of baking soda- unbaked (heh, heh, he said baked)
I tested for Ca+ and Kh. Ca was now at 420, Kh at 9.

All is well in DT land.
