Alk high? API test kit

    I got a KH test kit for my tank yesterday and tested and it was around 13..everyone says 8-12..But is 13 okay? or is it like really bad.

    What 2 part are you dosing? Its not that high. It will go down with time.

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    2 Parts/ Parts A/B, part A is calcium and B is a buffer. Also anything you add to increase the pH may increase your alk. I would just watch it and let it come down on it's own, or test your ca and see if you can bring that up thus lowering the alk. But I would not go that route just yet unless you see corals closing up.

    Corals looks fine..I have alot of LPS and softies so they should eat up my alk.

    But yeah, the PH settled at 8.2 over the course of a day so its okay now, but im guessing that raised the alk when i added that buffer.
