I would break the dosage into 2 or 3 separate doses 3 to 4 hours apart. It's not 100% necessary but better safe than sorry

I have been wondering about this, using epsom salt. Does it have approximates on how much to use? I dont want to keep testing over and over cause the mag test are kind of pricey.

A more correct option to just epsom salts would be
5 X Magnesium Chloride 3 X Magnesium Sulfate This will keep the build up of Sulfate to a acceptable level

I get mine a bulk reef supply works good and price isn't too bad.
I used to use epson salts but like Jason stated this keeps the build up of sulfate at acceptable levels.
you can also buy 2 part kits that come with calcium chloride and soda ash (for alk)

Magnesium chloride is ice melting salt, that you use in the winter for your driveway

How do you check your sulphate levels? Wouldnt doing water changes keep everything in check? Sorry for semi hijacking your thread. At least its still on subject.

It all depend on the size tank, and the amount of your "water change" could be kept in check, but need to check if concerned.
