I have always heard 12 is the highest you want to go, and any sudden change like that can effect your corals. hope everything is ok

Everything is okay looks like it has dropped already to 14dkH this morning so not to bad. I like ot maintain it about 12-14 range. Nothing looks burnt yet just my pocillpora and leather looks kind stressed. My water has cleared up though from last night when it was a little white.

Ok, I am having the same problem except mine is an 11 and never changes. I'm also trying to figure out why my plate coral, yellow polyps, and scold won't open like they used to. Ph is 8.2, nitrate 0, nitrate 0, ammonia 0, phosphate 0, alk 11 dkh (196.6ppm) , temp is steady between 72-76. Any thoughts?

you need to get a mag kit. Ca, Mg kH and SG are related and if one is off it will likely through off you other paremeters. IME if you dont have your mag stable, you will not be able to stabelize the kh
