I can't guess what you're looking at, but some animals in the ocean have bioluminescence. I've only seen it on free floating type organisms (not in real life, but on TV). I beleive it was a jellyfish, but in the pitch black ocean, its tentacles lit up in similar fashion to lights on an airport runway.

That sounds kind of like what you're describing.

I recall reading about some worm with rigid spikes set sort of like the feathers on a feather duster. They retract into rocks and the spiky things sort of look like fiber optic fibers. They arent bioluminescent but the light refracts off the spikes.

Maybe the new lights are allowing you to see them now whereas before you couldnt.

If it is an octopus hitch hiker i do not see how it survived.
I got this piece of rock last year buried in a bucket in the snow

If it is a reflection, it was some quite impressive reflection.
I stared at it for about 10 minutes from all angles.

Hey you never know.. I have seen a few posts where someone some how got a hitchhiker octopus.. I think it came on a piece of coral though. He actually never removed it from the reef tank- and as far as I know it still remains there today, doesn't bother anything in the tank.

Would actually be pretty cool IMO.

Scubba, I believe you. I was just outside bringing my dogs in and I heard something weird above me and there was these strange lights hovering around in the sky and then they just disappeared. I didnt have my camera or anything LOL.

Just joking man. Keep an eye out and get some pics. I would love to know what it is if you find out.
