might want to get a different phosphate kit-cyno kicks up when phos are up. You can suck it up doing a water change. It will go away though

this stuff is growing on some rock , It won't just suck off, it seems to have a good hold.
But I will re check my phosphate with a different kit

I will also try to get a pic to post, I can never seem to zoom in on my tank and get a good pic

That's nothing, I have hair algae every where and have had for months. I've check phos with 5 different kits and they all read 0 0 0 0 0. Anyway can you get us a pic of your algae wavebeast?

    Wavebeast,

If it is just growing on some rocks why are you concerned? There is nothing wrong with some tufts of red hair algae, it's not a bad thing unless it becomes dominant :)

However if it is bothering you, try scrubbing small sections of the rock at a time with a toothbrush :)

Do you have any type of clean up crew in your tanks ie...hermits, snails, crabs etc..

Sorry slow to respond, Had to have wisdom teth pulled right away (un planned) Didn't want to do a thing ,
Any way I belive it is red hair algae , & I think I am going to scrub some of it because it is taking over, I have 4 red hermits 6 blue leg hermits, 5 turbo snails, 6 nassirius Snails , They just seem not to be able to keep up with it.
What wavelength of light does red hair algae like.? As I was thinking of turning off one of my bulbs.
