algae on rock

    i need some help i have an alaga problem my live rock is not turning that nice purple color on top where the rock hits the light but if i flip it underneth the live rock i have a nice prurple color to it i have no but most of my rock is cover in green alga and i i cant seem to get ride of it i have my tank over a yr now and i not getting that nice pruple color to it all i get is a green alga growing on my wrong.

    You need light and the correct Calcium and Alkalinity levels. Test your Calcium you want 400-450 and Alkalinity 2.50-4.0 meq/l.

    May I suggest Kalk drip or Bionic. As Johno says, this will help alot. Myself, I like the Kalk. Also I think you should have suffecient Strontium and other elements. Good flow of water on the rocks helps I think.
