I recently switched lighting from floresent to power compacts about 2 weeks ago, but now I am getting lots of green algae on my glass. Is this normal? When will it go away?

    Thank You!

What type of bulbs did you get for you PC.
Also where do you get your water from?

The bulbs where close to new and came with the light. I just started to use RO water.

If you just switched to RO then you might have execs nutrients in your tank, and the upgrade in lighting could have triggered the algae growth.

really depends on your filtration system, im assuming thought that it is not enough or your water would already be nutrient deficient and thus no algae would exist. so what are you running exactly.
