Everytime I spot feed my alevopora and gonioporas with Goniopower (which they seem to absolutely love and devour) they begin to excrete a slimy snotty substance for several minutes afterward. Does anyone know exactly what that is?

I have not seen a response feeding Gonipower to either my Goni or Alveopora. They will retract, but not eat. Are you sure they are not sloughing off the food?

No. I am not sure at all. What do you mean? Am I feeding too much too fast you think?

No, just wondering if it is just retracting from the food rather than actually eating it. I've seen other corals like acans and chalices release slime to remove food they don't want to eat.
