AK47 or AR15????

HMM, shot an awesome AR the other day and loved it, BUT, the AK is just AWESOME. Plus the AK is SOOO much easier to maintain and trust. BUT, the AR is so easily modded and tweaked! AK better 300 yards an in FOR SURE, AR 300+ yards is def initely better.

I'm thinking AK! Thoughts?

 

I have never shot either, but from seeing them on shows and such i think the AK is just a sweet gun. I love the clip, and its a classic. I vote ak. Haha

 

Do you plan on shooting long range? If so, I would never consider an AK.

 

nah, I'll get a sniper if I want that, this is more for a fun blow stuff up gun and more importantly a home defense weapon. My heart is screaming AK, but the kid inside me loves the AR.

5.56 vs 223 I would go with the 5.56 but to me the AK is just not practical I have owned and shot both so the con and pros for both are aboput the same. Look into an ar 10 it shouts the 5.56 nato round and is built on a ar 15 fram plus you can convert it to the gas piston system just like the ak and get the same reliability without having to go russian. as for the magazine you can get 100 round mags plus the added bonus of the weaver mounts and colapiasable stock.

I have one in the patrol car just in case ;D

Thanks, but why do you not think the AK is practical? It is bigger, but its bullets will go through walls, AR, not so much! A lot of pluses on both sides of this. I just really like the lack of maintenance with the AK though.
