Aiptasia

I found this in my tank today. I can easly remove the rock that it is on. Should i do that or use Lemon Juice or Joe Juice, and if I remove the rock what should I do?

for a single one, I would not remove the rock as you could destroy lots of things on it that you do want , bacteria for example

Joe's juice squirted at them works
Aptasia X also works
lemon juice or vinegar works
Kalc paste spread over them works

I find the syringe as used in my Tropic marin test kit is an ideal device for aiming the above substances at them

Do you inject Lemon Juice into the stem, or at the mouth?

 

I aim for the mouth but they do normally retract so you got to go slow and carefull , sneak up on them really

I use aptasia X. Dont know if they react the same to lemon juice but as I move the needle into them I slowly start squirting. They acually grab the needle and wrap around it as I go in. Kills em every time.

I think I will try Lemon Juice first, and if that dont work I will try a comercial product.

 

I did this last week...I 'controlled' them I think I got 3.
I got scared about how much lemon juice so I just shot 3.
I noticed that they are probably in a crevice. They are bigger than they seem and it's harder to 'get in the mouth' than you think..

 

what ive done in the past is used a sterile seringe and injected them with lemon juice at the bace of the stem. knocks them down in a flash. However, IME i brought a turkey baster in the tank with me. reason being if you see a substance coming from the mouth of this critter you need to suck it up. They are spores and will spread in your tank. Good luck

 

I Used Lemon Juice

Today I whent to Walgreens and got a 0.54$ 23 gauge neadle. I stuck in the base and injected about a tenth of a mil. I will update if it comes back.
