AI sol and Neptune apex controller

Is anyone using an apex to control their AI SOLs. I am looking at putting in an apex and am curious about how this works. Any advice or suggestions are appreciated. Also curious if the AI's need to be plugged into the powerbar for the apex directly...as that impacts how many powerbars I need...1 vs 2....

You don't have to plug them into a port on the powerbar. The VDM is able to fully control it without that. It's WAY WAY easier to program them on the Apex and it's easier to program other things to happen with storms and stuff. I also have mine set to turn on sundays earlier because I'm off.

I have an AI controller for my frag tank, and hate it compared to the VDM/Apex approach. You will need the cable and the vdm for it to work.

You need one of these to plug from the vdm to your ai, from there, they daisy chain together.

Do you have the apex, or the apex lite? In looking at the Apex, I think it comes with the VDM module? Do you know if that is true?

 

It does not. It comes with 2 variable speed ports. But not an actual VDM that is required to run the AI Sols. So you gotta buy both the cable and the VDM either way.

No problem, that link Biocube posted is the most important document to use. The stuff from Neptune sys is all too limited in information.
