Adding violet 420

    I currently have the reefbreeders 72 watt Cree value fixture over my 75. I am thinking of taking 2 whites and 2 blues out of each fixture and adding violet 420 LEDs instead. Will I notice a difference? Or would the corals benefit from just 8 Violets? Or just change some blues out or just whites etc, mabye drop a green or red? Lol so many options. Thanks

    Yes you guys are right.. Violet.. Haha brain fart was looking up uv leds before the post.. Sorry edited right now... So question still remains if anybody has tryed them or etc... Thanks

    Yes, violet is a great addition and 8 will make a subtle difference. I think it's a good decision and would look at Stevesleds.com for the violets. His are incredible. My reefclub put one from ledgroupbuy, one from rapid led and one from aquastyles and his side by side. There was no competition. The 420nm from stevesleds were twice as bright and beautiful.

    Awesome will do. What do you think would be better taking out 8whites or 8 blues or 4 of each? To replace with the violets? Thanks never heard of that site will see take a look at it.

    How do you feel about your tanks color now? Is it too white or too blue?

    ATM running blues 60% and whites like 20%. Too white IMO the whites wash out the blues rather easily. Hoping taking out 8 whites won't hurt the corals to much? ;)

    How many whites do you have total? You may want to take 6 whites and 2 blues.
