Hey! OK I've been adding Mg from Bulkreefsupply.com(sulfate &chloride) following the directions they have and when I test its WAY low. I'm using the Salifert Mg test. I follow the directions and it doesn't change color until the 2nd little syringe full. I drop by drop on the first syringe (the smaller of the two that comes with it), then have to refill it with Mg-3 to get the test to change color. what's up with that?

    WOW,

2ml of water from the short syringe in the bottle
    4 drops of #1
    1 level scoop of #2
    stir
put the long thin syringe in #3, place all the way in and pull until the bottom of the rubber is at 1.0
add drops from the thin syringe in the bottle, stop when the color changes and read the bottom of the rubber o-ring and match it to the chart
if the color didnt change on the first syringe then the Mg is over 1500, at this stage one syringe=1500Mg
if your using the second syringe to have the color change then read the chart from the bottom of the rubber o-ring and add it to 1500.

if and only if your following the directions to the letter and doing the test properly and the test kit is good and upto date with two syringes the Mg is 3000. please make sure your correct on your assumption that your Mg is askew before you proceed.
