I have a few pieces of dry rock that I took out of my tank a while back. I was planning on rinsing and then adding in with my existing rock. Is there anything wrong with this plan?

nope not at all....as long as it's dead dry rock, i added about 20 pounds to my set up initially and no issues.

    +1 to ^^^

Done it many times myself over the years and never had any issues.

I had a thread about this early on, too! Should be good. The only issue I had with it was the sandy stuff the comes off the rock, that was everywhere in the water. I had rinsed them a lot, but apparently not enough. Just be sure to rinse them, unless you get that all off last time!

I added some to my tank aboutn2 months after starting it. Have no problems at all. Just rinse very well so you don't cloud up your water but if it does cloud up just put some polishing pads in your filter or sump.
