    will activated bone charcoal kill coral in marine tank?

    well i've never heard of it, how does it differ from regular lab grade activated carbon?

    Not quit sure about the difference. I have trusted it but after adding it my mushrooms closed and did not want to open again (however they did not change color), even after I removed the charcoal from the tank. Expensive mistake!

    bone charcoal is high in phosphate and it affects alkalinity, other then that its ok.

    Sounds like it's not OK as charcoal should not be high in phosphate or effect alk.
