Mostly depends on the colors if you ask me. A coral is worth what you are willing to pay for it. They are coming down in price tho. Do you have something in mind? :)

Also depends on Acan Lord, non-indo lord, acan echino, echinata, echinophylia....blah blah. Lots of types of acans ;D

Birdlady's right, they can range from as low as $15. per polyp all the way into hundreds per polyp. The species and color morphs are what set the price. If your looking for something in particular, PM me.

I have come across a lot of Q&A's where people confuse the moon coral (faviia) with the acanthastrea. Is there any definitive way to tell them apart? Maybe the skeleton?

Echino is short for echinophylia, which is a whole different family (Pectiniiae) then acans (Mussidae) and a whole lot different looking :D

For the most part, you should be able to tell if it's an Acan just by looking at it. However to correctly identify the exact species, you need to be able to see the skeleton so can measure the coralites.
