I've never had that issue before with my acans. You may have better luck in the disease forum, someone may see it there that has had the issue before.

Does that say you are only feeding your fish every 3 days? Fish eat every day in the wild and feeding large amounts every 3 days is not healthy. I would switch to a quarter cube each day, your fish will appreciate it.

Any idea if the frag was fresh cut, or cut recently?
I've seen lots of Acan frags die for one reason or another soon after they've been fragged. I suspect some bacterial problems or something similar from the fragging process but who knows really.
I think feeding them might help. Try and get a good frozen food like mysis, and soak it in garlic and something like selcon and get it chopped up a little bit. Turn off the flow in the tank and squirt a little bit on each polyp and see if it will open up and eat it, if you have fish find something to cover it with like a plastic berry box from the grocery store or something so the fish don't steal it all, or feed it after the lights are out for the night.

    Good luck!

I cannot get him to open no matter what I do and I awoke today with brown slime covering him again and another 1.5 heads gone
I have dipped and checked all that I am capable of doing
I did call the store were I got him and the owner was very nice and said he would replace it and told my to take pics there the day so he can see the change also the frag was cut 1 week prior to my buying it so I'm guessing theres alot at play here so all I can do is hope for the best Id hate to lose it even if he is willing to replace it :-/

Wow. What a great LFS. That is amazing. I have NEVER even heard of a store replacing a coral. You are lucky.
