AC at my house died today, earliest anyone can come out is tomorrow and my tank is at 80 degrees right now, thinkin about taking some ice cubes and putting them inside a ziploc then putting that ziploc inside another one to try and keep it stabilized some, should that work ok as long as i use a small amount of ice and wash the bag off with some r/o first?

A fan or 2 blowing across your tank and cutting the lights off a little early should help.

stuck a bag inside a bag inside a bag the center one having a few cubes in it then rinsed the whole thing in RO, so far so good dropped about 1/2 a degree so far i will probably cut the lights after feeding to help out too, cant do the fans across the top since it's a hooded nano

You don't want the temp to drop too quickly, so go slow with adding the ice.

:bulb2: Why not make ice cubes from RO/DI water? You can drop them right in your tank, and a few cubes here and there shouldn't have too much affect on your SG level.

How high do you think(know) your tank will get without doing anything?

shouldnt get much over ambient but that right now is 82

it's back up to 80 with the ice gone and the lights out, starting to cool off now so i'm just going to leave it be for the night. hopefully the guy will be here on time in the AM and can get this working without cutting to far into my 75g fund

82 degrees is no big deal.

Just want to make sure temp does not vary drastically in too short a time...

Some people keep their tanks at this temp 24\7. :-/
