A question on reading test rults w/ API...

    I have an API test kit (Reef Master), and have a question regarding reading the test results. I also have a Top Marin pH kit and it clearly states in the directions to look through the top of the test tube to read the color. The API kit does not specify how to read. So, the question is which way to look through the tube at the color chart... through the top or side? I did a search and was unable to find anything on this. Thanks for taking the time to help!
