Are you doing a fish only tank, or corals?
    If corals, what kind?
How wide is the tank (front to back)?

not very informed on LEDs but love the looks of them better than any other T5 or MH light i have ever seen.

what is the difference between the degrees of optics?

Tight optics allow for deeper penetration, but if they are too tight you'll get a disco effect where at the bottom of the tank looks like a freaking rainbow. Look up "Evil Clusters" on NR, those would be best IMO, but you'll have to work a bit.

I'd do 90 degree optics, def not 60. My tank is about 30"s deep and I have a rapidled on half and reefbreeders on the other half.

IMO, 3 of these is PLENTY and will grow anything you want

    reefbreeders

but if you want sunrise and sunset features, get these

    reefbreeders

unless you want to DIY, then look into rapidled.com
