I just thought that i would share my new tank. It is a fluval chi tank that i have converted into a saltwater tank. I have 5 pounds of live sand, and about 15 pounds of live rock. For filtration i am running a hang on back top fin that is rated for 40 gallons, i got it because its flow is adjustable. I'm still looking for a good power head, but im not sure if i really need one, the top fin runs at max 200 gph. My current lighting is a Compact fluorescent, but i have a boost led lamp on order.

Here is a pic, sorry for the quality, its from my phone. I'm working on getting a camera soon.

    a picture paints a 1000 words Skurious

nice looking set up and judging by that wave you have going on, you wont be needing an additional power head

i have never had coral so im hoping to start with some softies, im open to suggestions. right now im working on keeping up on the maintenance before buying any livestock. I assume with my boost led light i could probably keep just about anything. Thanks for the comments guys.

there is a powerhead in the picture, but that is actually not in there anymore, it didnt seem to make a difference and just looked out of place in there.

I switched from tap water over to Ro water from LFS last week. I now have what appears to be green hair algae blooming. Any ideas why all of the sudden this would be happening?
