    It might be just interenet rumor but I read that someone that got the Catalina brand that the ballast were not real triad but a lookalike.

    6 bulb Tek is more than enought for softies. You can keep Sps and clams with the 6 bulbs. I would acclamated real carefully when you get the new light but some soft corals like leathers are as high light as anby SPS. Once use to the new light they will grow like weeds.

    Covey, was going to go with the 8 bulb but you are wright with softies that i have and want to keep i really don't need that much that an 8 bulb would put out.
